I am having a garage sale this weekend and not sure what to do with the things that don't sell. I have called St. Vincent de Paul, and they won't have a truck in the area until May 6. I called Treasure Chest (Morning Star Mission), and they will only pick up furniture. I know I can bring the items somewhere myself, but I am looking for a charitable organization that will come to my house and pick up. We don't want to be parking in the driveway for long. Thanks!

Check with the Vietnam Veterans. I'm not sure the number, but they've picked up from us before, and I live in Joliet.
You can always post a sign that says everything will be free at the end of the sale. Its a great way to get rid of things, or even post a sign for everything half off the last few hours of your garage sale. People will be so tempted when its marked down to practically nothing., especially nowadays. Don't foget to post that free add on Craigslist also the days before.
sign up to freecycle.org. You can post that you are having a garage sale and will have a basket/table of free items. Not only will your announcement be sent to hundreds/thousands of people in your area, chances are, you'll make a killing on the sale. Just make sure the basket/table has free items throoughout the day.
