vaseline at night works really well. I use on both my boys 2 and 4, that way they don't lick it or wipe it off and most of the time after a couple of days, their lips are mostly healed. Not to say, they don't get chapped again LOL
my dd has really bad chapped lips with the cold snap we have had....what is safe to use on her? we all use carmex...can she use that? she is 2.
so i see some of the responses are things like aquaphor and vaseline.....is it ok for those to ger in her mouth if she licks it?

I would stop the carmex and just use vaseline. Most specifically after brushing her teeth in the morning and then at night before she goes to bed. At least for me and my kids, carmex and all the other "chapsticks" just make everything worse. My doc agreed. Also you can exfoliate her lips with a warm washcloth (never the toothbrush). Good luck!
Vaseline or aquaphor are your best bets. Carmex and Burts Bees actually contain a menthol which can dry out her lips more.
She could eat vaseline out of the jar and it would never hurt her. It would cause her to have mushy stools, but not hurt her.
I would use original Chapstick. Its also great for scrapes and cuts believe it or not!
Vaseoline is safe to use on little ones. The little bit she gets in her mouth will not hurt her. You may want to try to apply it while she's sleeping.
I would also think Burt's Bees would be good since it's all natural (as long as she doesn't have any honey allergies).
i hate carmex in general ... burt's bees is really good and all natural as well as a few others at whole foods ... try those first expecially since kids tend to lick it off thier lips right away.
Sneak in after she's sleeping and slather on the Aquaphor every night. Magic.
my little guy has chapped lips as well right now but his is from teething. I have been using Beadreaux's Chapstick. Its for chapped lips and cheeks. it works well for my little guy. :)
