Changing Tables

This question is for those of you who have or have used a changing table for your child.

When did you stop using the table and remove it from the house? My daughter is getting really brave and doesn't care to lay still-even strapped down. Do I keep it till she is potty trained and out of diapers or remove it sooner?

What can I do next?

I agree with people that responded. When my son was big enough to roll around on it, I did not use it anymore. I just used the floor or on my bed with a changing pad underneath him.

I stopped using mine when my kids were about 6 months. I just change them on the floor. Lay a pad down on the floor if you'd like. I think to put a child on a changing table till they are potty trained is not safe. I am pretty sure they are meant for babies.

I haven't used mine since my son has been able to squirm his way out of it. I find it easier to simply change him on the floor these days.

I would definately not use it for her anymore if she is wanting to turn over or sit up, as far as removing from your house, if you can use it as storage or shelves then use it but if you are done then I would say sell it or give away, since you are not having anymore children.

I never used one for my second child. For my first i only used it for about a month. Found it easier to use the floor, bed, or couch.

my son is 15 months old and I still use it. Yes he tries to squirm off but I make sure he can't roll off. Our big thing is picking something out of his lotion/diaper cream/odds and ends basket. Once he picks something to hold/play with i have enough time to change him before he loses interest. I just like the changing area because all his stuff is right there.

I just read in What to Expect the First year is to get a special toy and leave it on or by the changing table. Let her play with it while she is there. My sister started to change her son on the twin bed that is in his room. She just put down some crib pads or lap pads. She has a low basket with the wipes and diapers next to the pad. I used it and it worked great.
