I am trying to learn how to make a more attractive table for our meals as well as when we entertain. Does anyone have any suggestions for resources that will help me - websites, books, magazines, etc.? Thanks!

I don't ever watch the show but I've got a couple of ideas from martha stewart....she might have something on a website. my standard is a large glass round bowl filled with fruit that represents that season, then fill with water and add tall matching flowers or complementary color ( oranges with yellow glads or red apples with white tulips, etc)...I hope this makes sense. It's a simple centerpiece that looks fresh, colorful and eye-catching.

check with Joann's Fabrics. they have a lot of different low cost classes that might give you some ideas. I also get a lot of good ideas from the Pottery Barn catalog.

Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee on the Food Network always ends her show with a "tablescape" she has fun ideas that you can try. Also, try wedding websites like theknot.com or wedding magazines. Also, large floral shops or event rental facilities sometimes have displays. There's a bridal show in Fort Worth this weekend and they always have displays from the vendors.

There are so many options!! I would suggest you go to Hobby Lobby and pick up many ideas! They are great!! From flowers, to candles, to simple vases filled with fruit, there are so many ways to decorate a table now. Many themes as well. I like the to arrange three tall cylinder vases of different heights, fill them with water, add food coloring to the water and rose petals, then top it with a floating candle on top. This is very affordable and striking.

Martha Stewart online is super. You have hundreds of centerpieces and even weddings and children's parties, etc. It costs nothing to join and you get a daily tip, cookie, etc. Have fun!V.
