Hi Everyone! My husbands work is taking everyone to Cedar Point for the day. We have not been there with kids before, so we don't know what to expect. We have a 3 year old and a 19 month old. We were thinking of staying the night and doing the park one day and the water park the next day. My question is, is the kids area in the park big enough to fill the day, or would it be better to do both parks in one day? Also any recommendations for hotels, I think there is one in the park?

What can I do next?

Take 2 days, I don't know about soak city cuz I have not been there in years, but we go to Cedar Point every year and have a blast. The kids will have their favorite rides that you ride over and over and there are lots of shows to watch and its alot of walking so they will be exhausted.
I've never stayed in the motels right at cedar point, I've heard they are very nice but pricey. I've done the camping thing and that was fun. But normally we get a motel not far from cedar point, one that has a shuttle to and from a couple times a day. I wish you good weather.

I'm surprised everyone's said to pack it into one day. I, personally, don't think it's possible. I took my son when he was 2 1/2 and there was sooo much to do! He had a blast and I would have LOVED a second day to take him to the water park. Plus, if you stayed over night you'd have a place to take the kids for a probably much needed nap in the afternoon and still be able to return for an evening of more fun! By the time you factor in snacks and meals and breaks and diaper changes and everything else that goes with kids a day will fly by in no time. Well, hope you and your family have a wonderful time!

I have been to Cedar Point just about every year since I was 4 and there was A LOT less to do then. I would say if your husband and you aren't going to be able to do the main rides then one day is enough. There is a great kids area but I'm not sure it would occupy the whole day but if you have a hotel it's great to take a nap in and refresh yourself for the water park. Hotel Breakers is expensive and old but right in the park (they have a new area too but the old part does NOT have elevators) the Breakers Express is just off the midway and it's less expensive, plus when you stay at one of their hotels you get to get in 1 hour earlier than everyone else. Hope this helps.

Hi I used to work at Cedar Point.. the kids area is pretty big, like a normal kids area at a carnival.. but you could definitely do that and Soak City in one day, as Soak City doesn't offer much for small children either. They have a lazy river and that is about it! The rest is very tall water slides.

But if you wanted to get two days out of it or had to, I am sure your kids would just get a kick out of getting strolled around and seeing all the stuff.

Also, there is a new kids area if you haven't been there in awhile. Camp Snoopy. You can meet Snoopy, watch them sings songs, they have kids rides and there is a Snoopy on Ice show you can see. They have an imax theatre there as well, so don't let the rides limit you. Go to their website and check out the show for little people.

it is very diffucult to do both parks in one day there is other things to do in the park outside of the kiddy area there is the train ride sky tram shows etc. it is more convienent to stay at the hotel in the park that way you can go back to your room let the children nap or just rest and then go back to the park.
