Catering for Event

I have volunteered to find a location and caterer for a Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet in February. Does anyone have any suggestions/experiences for a caterer that is both low cost and great flavor? Our cub scout pack is limited on funds and we don't like the parents to pay too much for thier dinner. The most we have paid in the past has been $8, which covered both dinner and location. Forgot to tell you the area, Carrollton, North Dallas, Plano area. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hello!

Yes, I have a fabulous cater that I use all the time. She can do any type of menu. I actually work for DART, and I have to use low bids and she is fabulous for the money. She is so affordable and the food is great quality.

Hope this helps in your serach for a cater.

I know the best caterers, and they have a web-site too. Besides the web site menu, I think they can specialize for certain types of events too.

Thay are definitely the most reasonably priced caterers out there!

Hi A.,
I work on events for our local schools, at church, and a nearby nursing home often...
I remember doing the Blue and Gold Banquet for my son who is now 14...
We made great centerpieces that included a dimensional 10" teepee lit up by battery operated lights inside. The Boy Scout store had neat novelty items that we got for each scout, nice Boy Scout placemats
which we laminated at Mardel Book Store (.25 per yard).

We have used a Frisco caterer several times that is wonderful! I remember our budget per meal being limited to only $8.50. We had chicken and vegetables and a roll. We ended up having each family bring a dessert to share at the event, which made it work moneywise.
We had her make custom designed logo cookies for our Senior Baccalaureate Ceremony that were to die for. These would be a hit for scouts with their emblem on top also. I think she did them for about .80 each for us.

Good luck!

I have used the Plano CVB (Conv. & Visitors Bureau) for this very program several years ago. They had the room and catering.

Good luck,

We have used both Pancho's Mexican Buffet for kid events like this. They have a great all you can eat now and a dessert buffet that kids can make their own ice cream sundaes with sprinkles, etc. Panchos also caters. Usually around $5 per person. I've used Panchos in Irving and Mesquite, not sure if their is a Plano location. Also, Texadelphia does catering. Great sandwich platters and salads. A
