I am looking for a good carseat for a two year old. The one I have is great but I am going to put my 6 month old in that one and get a new one for my two year old. I need one that is a little bit taller than the one I have and I would also like one that reclines. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I recommend the Britex Boulvard....it goes up to 100lbs. My kids are 21/2 and have a couple more years in the carseat. It's a little more expensive...but saves you in the long run.

I haqve the black Alpha Omega carseat ( I beleive it is by Cosco or maybe graco, or evenflo..it's not one of the psycho over priced unnecessary ones). It is AWESOME. It holds up to a 100lb child. My 27 month old fits great in it and she is considered tall at 37". She still has a good 7-8 inches before her head even comes to the top of the seat and the whole carseat is convertable up to a booster eventually. It's very confortable and has 3 points of recline, as well as a raising head rest with 5 point harness which eventually comes out to run a normal seat belt through the sides of the seat. We got it from a military exchange for about $150 but they also sell it at both Walmart and Kmart for around the same price(I think it is even cheaper now). Take your child with you and have them sit in the seat at the store to make sure they fit well.

Apparently the Maxi-Cosi Priori reclines. My mom just bought one for my sister-in-law. They are very cool looking and apparently are highly respected in Europe, but new to the market here.

I use the britmax car seat.
I bought it at target. I think it's mid priced around $300.
It is really comfy and will hold a pretty big kid :)
We have been happy with it.

I just had to replace my son's car seat. We bought the Evenflow Triumph Advanced LX (or something like that). It's very comfortable for him, and it should last until he's about 5 years old, or 50 lbs. (Most car seats only go up to 40 lbs.) It was $140 with tax at Target. I really wanted to get a Britax brand seat. They have one especially for taller children. On their website, you put in your child's weight and measurements, and they will recommended which of their seats works best. I would have bought one, but it was twice as much, and my insurance company wouldn't pay for it. We had to replace the one we had because someone rear ended me. It's the law to get a new one if it's been involved in an accident.

Hello T.,

the best car seats are either from MAXI COSI or Roemer, however they are from Germany, Europe. Maybe you have somebody in Europe that can get one for you?
Happy New Year to you and your family.

Hi T.,
I have the Britax Marathon for my two year old and love it. It is one of the safest car seats on the market and unfortunately, my sons father was able to prove that when him and my son were in a car accident a few months back. The car was completely totaled, as the passenger side of the car was completely caved in. Forutnatley my son and his father walked away with minor injuries, my son only had a few bruises from his car seat straps that thankfully held him place. Even the officer that was called to the scene of the accident said I was lucky to have a great car seat. So from personal experience, I recommend the Britax Marathon or any car seat from Britax as I know they have the highest crash test ratings. Hope this helps.
Happy Holidays,
H. W.

Have you tried the Britax Marathon. It works up to 65 pounds. My son loves it and we just bought if for my 9 month old. It can recline up to 33 pounds then you have to put it upright. It is a little pricey but my son hates any other car seat. Good luck!

The car seat I have is made by Eddie Baurer. I found it at Target for about $70.00 The weight limits are from 20 lbs to 100 lbs... so you never have to buy another car seat. Once it's time for them to seat in a booster you just take the back off and there you go.... It's great I love it!

I can not afford Brittax, I have 5 kids and will ONLY buy Graco. If it is not a Graco, my kids will NOT ride in it. They are the safest for their money, and always easy to install.
