Hi all - we're renting and want to keep up with keeping the place nice. Carpets need cleaning- it's about 1500 feet of room. What is the best company and best price in your experience?

No pets, just people and normal wear/tear of an elementary schooler.

Thanks

Well, we have a steam cleaner for the carpet, and it's never as good as having it professionally done.
We use Stanley Steamer 1x a year. We have about 3000 sq ft, and it's about $300 for cleaning, including a protective coat.

To me, that's cheap to avoid the effort and have it done nicely.

We have a Bissell Pro heat and we love it. We got it because we have pets. They are less than $250 and the cleaning solution is about $25 a bottle. I love this for my spot cleaning and high traffic areas.

However, about 3 times a year, I do have Dalworth come out to do a thorough cleaning. The water they have is SO much hotter plus the better suction.

Dalworth offers Monday deals. On Mondays they have some kind of special such as 3 rooms for $99, or something like that. If you book a Monday deal, you have to have the service done that week which iis usually no biggie.

My bill averages $150 when they come here for a large master bedroom, large family room and steps. I don't clean the upstairs as often because no one is ever up there since my daughter moved off to college.

To be honest, I would invest in a carpet cleaner (I have a Bissell Pro-Heat Carpet cleaner). It's really not hard to do it yourself, and it will pay for itself 100 times over hiring someone to do it for you (esp if you have a young kid in the house).

If you go with a service. Stanley Steamer has been great for us. Very reasonable and you can often find coupons for them too!. Otherwise, we have a Royal steamer we keep on hand for in between cleanings. It is a good product and holds up well.
