I've heard good things about Hoover SteamVac Agility.
You can also check the Target website, it has user reviews on some of the carpet cleaners.
I need your opinions on a good carpet cleaning machine. I currently have a Bissell, but it leaks really bad. I prefer one with scrubbing brushes. I really don't want to have to go out and rent a Rug Doctor each time I get around to cleaning the carpets. We have 2 shedding dogs and always have a house full of teens.

Not sure of any good carpet cleaners (machines) but if you dont mind manuel labor you can buy a couple of cans of resolve, (make sure its the cans) it tells you on the can how to self clean a carpet. Just spray the carpet covering it, take a good damp mop and scrub it clean let it dry then vaccum, it worked great on my carpets, made them look clean for awhile. I understand the whole hair thing, I have a dog and a cat.
we sucked it up and paid the big bucks for a dyson animal to keep up with the pet hair, and the thing is AMAZING!!! Bettre than any steam cleaner we've ever had even. We do hae a small...I dont even know what kind it is, for emergency spot cleaning, but when we feel we need a big cleaning, we just call steamatic or someone, I dont find the cleaners you buy do a good enough job to be worth the money personally
Okay, speaking from experience, make sure that when you clean your carpets, put the scotchguard protectant down afterwards. Not doing this will ruin your carpets. Good luck!!!
