her knees will toughen up pretty quickly. if they aren't bleeding or painful it will pass. maybe a little lotion. R.
My daughter has just started crawling really good in the last week or so. She does it all the time now and we have very fluffy carpet so she has been getting carpet burn on the knees tho it doesn't seem to bother her. She hates wearing pants around the house and she can not get around very well in sleepers which just makes her mad. So how can I keep her from getting carpet burn because I hate that she may be getting hurt even if she seems like it doesn't hurt. Is this no big deal or do I even need to do something?

Take a pair of your old socks and cut the feet off of them and use the ankle part as knee pads, if you're worried. It's really no big deal, though.
Put her in legging type pants. They might be better than looser pants.
If that doesn't work don't worry she will really be fine.
Leggings or baby leg warmers (Baby Legs) help. You can order baby knee pads from a catalog but I never bothered.
This is not actually a burn, but the beginnings of a callus, a thickening of the skin that will protect her from friction. It's not pretty, but it's not uncomfortable, and will go away after she learns to walk. Protective clothing would prevent most of the callus formation, but as you note, may be annoying to her.
I would cut the toes out of some socks and pull them up to her knees.
what about the tight little legging type pants? I think her knees will toughen up though. or cover them with bandaids??
