I am thinking of getting a cares harness for my next trip. I have a small 2 year old boy. Are these harnesses comfortable enough for my son to sleep while flying? Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

Thanks for the answers so far!

By the way, the reason I was thinking of the harness was because I am flying with a 2 year old and 2 month old, and my husband will not be with us to help. I will have the kids, double stroller, the diaper bag, and the laptop bag, so I do not think I will be able to lug around a large carseat!

I've never used one, but I've had a lot of luck with car seats on the plane. Last summer, we took my 2-year-old and 3.5-year-old on a long plane trip, both in their car seats, and both children were comfortable and able to sleep briefly on the flight.

I borrowed one when my daughter was 2. She couldn't sleep in it and ended up crying on my lap with no belt what so ever during landing (her ears were popping). After that, we just used the regular old lap belt.

Yes, they are. We bought one for a trip to Costa Rica and our daughter napped a few hours in flight while buckled in each way. Really, it's no different than snoozing in a car seat w/ a 5 pt. harness.
