*My son and I are looking forward to a wonderful school year with you! Welcome!
*My son cannot wait to start school, and we look forward to a wonderful year of learning and fun. Thank you so much for all you do!
It is Meet the Teacher Night tomorrow and I wanted to give the teacher a card. My daughter is starting kindergarten and felt like giving her a card as a nice gesture. What wording would you use?
Welcome Back...not sure who the teacher is yet? They said we find out who the teacher is that night. We will have some new teachers starting at her school this year.
Thank you for teaching my child?
I tried finding teacher cards at the store and they do not have any. I guess they only have them during teacher appreciation week?
Thank you, ladies for all the great ideas! I appreciate your help so much!. I stole Scarlett's wording and idea! I had my daughter pick out the color of construction paper she wanted to use to make a card. She picked red and she wrote To My Teacher and on the inside she put lots of different stickers and printed her name. On the back she wanted to write To My Teacher again and drew a heart. On the inside: I wrote that My daughter (insert name here) and I look forward to a wonderful school year with you! WELCOME! It turned out pretty cute. Now I am excited about meeting her tonight! I had a box of chalk and found some cute classroom signs at Dollar Tree that read Eyes on Me, Quiet, Please Raise Your Hand, Please Line Up Quietly, got a teacher notepad and had some colored dry erase markers from a house party giveaway and put everything in a cute Teacher gift bag also at Dollar Tree.

Such a good idea! What if you write your own message (like Scarlett's suggestion) and have your daughter draw a picture and sign her name? I might steal this idea! She won't be able to meet her teacher when I do :(.
I think it's a really nice idea, but I think I would wait until after you meet her - maybe drop it off at the school early next week. Then you can say how nice it was to meet her and how you're looking forward to your daughter being in her class this year and offer any assistance that you can give to help in the classroom throughout the year.
I taught kinder and first for 7 years and just getting a card from a parent was really nice. I like the first thing Scarlett wrote for a message.
I'd just have your daughter draw and color her own picture with her name on it. If the teacher hangs it up somewhere, it will give your daughter a sense of pride!
The ideas are great, but I would like to add that it is great to get a card with your actual name on it. I would suggest either waiting to address the card until you are at the school and have found out the teachers name, or give the card on the first day of school.
I waited for the end of the first week and gave my son's teacher a letter thanking her for helping me get through sending my baby to his first day of school. Along with it I attached a getting to know you page that she returned to me. It had things like favorite food, drink, store, etc. Specifically for ideas for Christmas and Teacher appreciation.
If you email me I can forward you my questionnaire.
I would simply say looking forward to getting to know you.
How about "So excited to meet you and bein this year together!" If it's from your daughter, maybe she can just draw a picture of her sitting at a desk, or reading a book, or some other school thing, then she can write under it what is happening in the picture like "this is a picture of me writing the alphabet" and then you've got the "so excited to start the year"
That's awkward trying to express sentiments for someone you never met and might even turn out to be a booger (like my 2nd and 6th grade teachers). How about a flower?
