I haven't heard of the Recaro ones but we have the Britax convertibles in both my car and my husbands and completely love them
im seeking any opinions/thoughts on these car seats.
Recaro SIGNO Convertable Child Seat,
Recaro Vivo™ Lite Booster Seat,
Britax Convertable Car Seat.
which would you suggest and recommend?
Recaro is very appealing but is britax still considered to be the best for safety??

we have 2 Cosco convertible seats and love them, they are safe and not too bulky. we've been using them for years and still in great shape.

We have a 3 yr old and have both the Britax decathalon and the Britax Regent. I am very happy with both, but they are a little bulky so you want to make sure that they fit in your car. The Regent will not fit in our small car, but it fits well in our minivan.
I read about the Recaro and I liked it too, but I was unable to find one locally and I was adamant about seeing the seat before I purchased it.
Hi L....
We have the Britax...our 3rd is in it now...It's awesome...safe, cleans up well and is attractive. I would recommend it time and time again!

I have a Britax and love it!!
We have the Britax Boulevard. Highly recommend it. We will probably buy another one for our 6 month old. Compared to the others in the stores, it really seems to be the safest and best made.
Most car seats sold today are FAA approved. Which personally, means nothing to me! You have to consider a lot of other things when choosing a car seat. Will the seat be installed in the car and stay there or will it be moved from one car to the other (from mom's car to dad's car)? How does the baby fit in the seat? Can the straps be adjusted to fit the baby easily as the baby grows or when they go from snowsuit to light jacket (sometimes from one day the next)? How does the car seat fit in the car? Is it easy to get the baby in and out of the seat when it's in the car? Will it "grow" with the baby/child or will it need to be replaced as he/she gets bigger? Can you get the baby in and out of the seat quickly? As the baby grows will he/she be able to get out of the seat by him/herself when you don't want them to?
And one big thing a lot of people don't take into consideration is, how safe is your car? A car seat is only as safe as the car it's in! The reason I say this is, a few years ago my daughter and son in law went to great lengths and expense to buy the perfect, safest, car seat for their new baby. The car seat they bought was one that strapped to the cars back seat rather then just using the seat belt to hold it in place. It sure sounded and felt like it was secure. Then one day they were in an accident and the whole back seat of their car flew forward, car seat, baby and all. The back seat of their car was built to be removed easily and only slid in place. The baby was not hurt seriously, but she could have been!
I don't know Recaro, BUT I will tell you that Britax is very safe--held to standards beyond the USA standards--and it is the one that I have found is easiest to use, both in terms of installation as well as buckling your kids in every day. The ease of use makes it safer still, because you are more likely to use it correctly, and it also eliminates one little annoyance from your every day life. What's not to like about that?
Hi Lisa - WE have the Recaro car seat for my 4yr daughter and absolutely LOVE it! When I tell people the brand, noone has ever heard of it. We had the Britax Roundabout prior to this car seat. Although I really liked it and it was a good solid seat. The Recaro is even more solid. And my daughter loves her seat!! Even her friends prefer to ride in her seat during carpols and my daughter happily shares. I believe the price comparison is the same and I would buy another Recaro if I needed to.
Good luck with your decision!
HI, We use Evenflo Triumph for both my boys, age 1 (just turned 1 on May 21st and still rear facing) and age 3 1/2. I chose it because it had the highest ratings next to the Britax a few years ago (higher in some categories) and was half the price.
Good Luck!
I have a Britax Boulevard & I love it! It is easy to use - can go rear facing & is good up to 60 pounds (I believe) It is also very soft as I found alot of the car seats were hard. It has a 5 point harness & it is very easy to adjust. I highly recommend this seat.
Hi,
Never heard of Recaro...
I have TWO Britax Marathons, one in each car. They are big, but durable, easiest to use and the seatbelt doesn't kink - it's awesome! Worth every penny! My daughter is 3 and still in it and I think she will be for the next few years.
On the other hand, I bought my parents a Evenflo Trimph for their car because it was cheaper, but the straps are a major pain - they always twist and it's getting harder to tighten the buckles - I'm not really happy with that because it takes a few more minutes to work the buckles compared to the Britax...
LOVE the Britax. On the pricey side, but as a car seat in the primary car, I love it!
I have a Britax - and love it. I've used it for both my daughters.
Hi L.,
I have the Britax and I love it. My son also loves it and told me how big and comfortable it is. My son is now 4 and out grew his first one so that is why I had to buy this one, plus this one goes up to 80+ lbs. One more thing, it has the 5-point harness! Good luck with your decision, Tina xoxo
Hi L.,
I actually have the convertible car seat by Britax. It is great and FAA approved, so if you are travelling with your baby, you can bring in this car seat in the plane. Also, it grows with your baby up to 3 years old (depending on weight) of course. Good luck!
