Car Seat Travel Bag

When renting a car I order a carset. Or if the shuttle bus will be picking us up I will reserve one for that as well. I've never had to bring a car seat with us (while traveling in the US) If you can avoid bringing an awkward, hard to carry carseat, you may want to do this.
Also, I've had many strollers broken by the airlines. So now I travel w/my favorite "travel stroller" I bought at walmart for $23. It is very small, folds flat,very light weight and it reclines! It's good for up to 3yr olds, any older and their head wont fit under the canopy. I researched strollers (for travel) and this one has held up better that my $400 one.

We have used the backpack-style bag for at least 5 trips. It is fairly easy to handle with other luggage and it keeps the car seat clean if you check it.

I have been traveling with at least one child 2X a year for the last 5 years and what I do, (because I don't trust checking it, it may get broken) I take it and gate check it. It is at the exit door when you get off the plane, and you drop it off at the entrance door when you get on. Plus a perk with this is....If there is an open seat on the plane, you can take the seat on the plane and use it for your child. I have checked my NEW car seat once and that was the only time that I used it, the "belt" on the conveyour (sp?) busted the one "foot" on the car seat and of course the airline states "It is not our fault and not our problem". They also have an item kind of like luggage, but you put the car seat on it and it folds down quickly. This way your child sits in his car seat and you pull him while you're walking. My friend bought one and she loves it! I found it on the web, but don't remember where.

I bought one that rolled and had straps so you could carry it as a backpack or as a tote bag. I got it at BRU, which I don't know if they have in Abq. We are moving there from Texas and haven't gotten settled yet. It's made by Safety 1st but I know they had one made by Eddie Bauer as well. I think it was around $40 when I bought it 2 years ago.

Hi! I have the Eddie Bauer bag from Babies R Us. It is fabulous! It even doubles as a extra baggage...we were able to fit quite a bit of overflow luggage into in order to avoid the over weight limit charge...FANTASTIC!! We have travelled with it at least 6 times and it is still in perfect condition. My daughter is now 3 and we could probably fit a backless booster in there as well when we our next baby! LOVE IT!

The travel bags are wonderful! We bought one that had both straps to carry as a back pack and wheels. It was nice to be able to wheel the carseat around in the airport. I would recommend them to anyone.

I traveled by myself with my son when he was about 7 months old. I found the car seat back that has wheels on it was much easier to travel with! It was very convenient with the wheels along with all our other luggage. Hope this helps! Happy traveling :)

Last time I flew with a carseat, we were taking a backless booster also. We put them both in the same bag & checked them dowstairs. It's nice to be able to roll them around, but if you're also rolling around other bags that doesn't leave your hands free for the baby. When I traveled with just one of my children (she was about 6 months), I kept her in the carseat until the gate & checked it there. They may let you take it on board if it's not a full flight, otherwise when checked at gate, it comes right back up to the gate at arrival - stroller too. Good Luck! I hate to assume someone else's finances -- but if your travel involves flight and rental car .. look into adding a rental car seat to the gig. That way you're not trapsing around with some bulky car seat.

I don't know anything about them, but I would like to know where you are getting yours and how much they cost- we are also traveling by plane this summer!

If you mean you're flying, I'm not sure why you would need a bag. A 6-month old should really be sitting in the car seat on the plane. If you haven't bought him his own ticket, I would still just carry the seat to the gate and see if there is an empty seat available for him and his car seat. If not, you can always check the car seat at the door to the plane and have it waiting for you there when you get off. That way it's less likely to get damaged or lost and you have it if there's an available empty seat. A lot of the airlines will supply you with a large heavy-duty plastic bag also. For our older kids we usually take a large flexible, duffel bag for their seats. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Hi there. I know of a wonderful!! product. It's an attachement for the actually car seat. I used it when my daughter was 8 months old and we traveled. You get it at Go-Go-Babyz.com or Go-Go-Kidz.com I used that and didn't have to use a stroller, and carry the car seat and all the other stuff! Everytime we travel EVERYONE always asks where I got it becuase it is so awesome!! It only takes a few days to get it too! Good luck & happy traveling!
