I had to go to the local Fire Department and they checked it for us. I think you can call the non-emergency number and they can tell you. Not all police stations/fire departments do it, though.
Does anyone know where I can go to get my infant car seat checked to ensure it is installed right?
Thanks for all the responses. We're going to try tomorrow at the nearest fire department, if that doesn't work we'll call the police department.

If you call the non-emergency line to that police station they will do it for you.
Hi R.
I believe you can call your local police department and ask them when they do it. I have also seen at Toys R Us they have a day that you can have it checked with the local police. I can ask some moms in my moms group for you and see if anyone has more information.

You get it checked for free at your local police or fire dept.
Every Police or Fire Station should have a trained and certified Child Safety Seat Tech so call your local police station.
or there are scheduled "events" where there are many techs on hand where people come and have them checked out. You can find a list of them here:http://www.seatcheck.net/
this is also a very helpful resource for information regarding carseats-

Call your fire department and make an appointment to get it checked. I believe that the police will also do it. I need to get this done also!
