oh..I'm so sorry he was feeling bad....

We found a product called carpet science (Lowe's) that you spray on, then let it set (foam up) then vaccuum up. I find that best results are if I use a scrub brush to get the foaming bubble either into the carpet or fabric.

The last time we had a throw up incident it was milk...so I actually had to do it a couple of times. But you'd never know now.

When this happened with one of my kids, I tried Febreze and it did not help. Then I sprayed the cushions with Lysol and that did the trick. I soaked them pretty good so it would penetrate into the cushions and then took them outside to air out and dry.
Hope this helps!

This same thing happened to me last year. My mom bought me some Arm & Hammer Carpet and Room Odor Eliminator. I sprinkled it on the couch pillow and then vacuumed it off with an attachment. That worked for us and it does great on carpet which is what it was meant for.

Have you tried sprinkling baking soda on it, waiting 30 minutes or so and then vacuuming it up?

I know that you arent really supposed to wash couch cushions but I had kid puke on the couch and couldn't get rid of the smell any other way. I took the couch cushion cover off and washed it by hand in cool soapy water, then did the same with the cushion itself, but I added a little bleach.(I figured if it did any damage no-body could see it after the cover was back on!) Then set it where it could drip dry. It took a few days to completely dry but the nasty smell was gone, so it was worth sitting on piles of pillows! You could try soaking it in febreze but you really have to get the actual throw up out first for that to work. Good luck.

Ohh I am sorry there is nothing worse then that smell. if you can remove the cushion cover wash it with water and vinegar and it will pull the smell right now.

if not the same products that you can use to get pet smells out should take the smell out as well.

Best of luck!

It might not be strong enough, but have you tried Febreeze?

Good luck!

You MUST get Demolish! It is the best product for protein stains like vomit, urine or blood. The only place I know to get it is at my Vet's office, Cat's on Broadway. It actually nutralizes the enzymes and removes the odor so it doesn't just cover it up.

One word: FEBREEZE! Spray enough to get it really wet and let it completely dry before use. I've seen this stuff work on the worst smells, even swamped out athletic shoes that the washer could not help!
