Help! I have one of those rings that is 3 in one (like all 3 hooked together) and I've had it on my thumb for a couple weeks with no problem. Well, I woke up around 4am and it was hurting so I tried to get it off and it won't come off! So I've been up since then somehow thinking it will just get skinny and I can pull it right off...wrong!

Any tips besides soap and lotion to getting this ring off my finger? I even tried cutting one of them off but its too thick. :0/

What can I do next?

Next time:

Finger in mouth. Get all nice and wet. Teeth on bottom side of rings. Pull and twist adding saliva as you go.

It's the trick we had people do in the ER before bringing out the cutter or sending them for the laser (for tungsten steel, they have to be laser cut off, regular cutters won't work).

Sex lube can work as well, but getting a grip on the rings is almost impossible with any kind of tool, and lube just tastes disgusting.

Try #1 - run your hand under cold, almost ice cold water.

Try #2 - lather butter on your fingers. or spray Pam on your fingers.

If none of the tricks work, drink a ton of water for 2 days straight (you should be doing that anyway!) Whatever you weigh, drink half that in ounces.) You'll pee a ton, and that gets the extra water weight out of your body. Then, lather us using the other tricks, have your hand in an up position so that the blood isn't pooled in your finger, and try then.

Hope you get it off! Put away the cutters - that's too scary!

Good luck!

Sounds weird but try spraying windex on your finger. I was trying on rings once at a faire and I put on one that was too small and it would not come off. They took the windex out from under the counter and sprayed my finger and it wiggled off. They keep it there for this very reason. I've heard it after that and have had to use it after that time.
I forgot why they said it worked but it does.

Okay Christine. Just kidding my daughter's name is Christine and she did this as well. I have small fingers and apparently she doesn't get that she does not. :p

Okay work the ring up to the first joint. Now pulling the skin bit by bit work around the finger. You want to pull the skin toward your hand holding the ring in place. Eventually it comes off. I wish I could draw you a picture because my daughter didn't understand what I was saying until I just took the ring off.

Basically when you pull a ring off it is encountering all the skin at once at the joint but when you pull it through bit by bit it comes right off.

When having surgery ...my Csection...and 40 pounds heavier than when I got all of my rings...I had a middle finger plain small band that just was not coming off. The only thing that ever works anyore if I have to remove it (which only medical test related, ever sort of stuff), is a baby wipe. A cold (stuck in the freezer for a few sort minutes), then rub and rub and work the ring off. Not sure why, but its magic.

My rings with jewels on them are not as tough (guess those fingers the joints are not as large...but still carry about 25 pounds more than when any of the rings were purchased)....the baby wipe works. I always carry some in a baggie when I go to get my rings cleaned if at the mall or where the jewelers are at. They slip off every time.

Good luck!

We always used Windex when I worked in a jewlery store. Its the amonia that makes it slippery and it cleans the ring at the same time!

Running your hand under cold water also helps.
