J., there are pants that have a button system on the inside of the waist band that you can pull a little tighter than the waist of the pants. I know that tommy hilfiger makes them but my daughter also had some from sears. good luck

My son is skinny but also apparently has no tush. I've been buying Old Navy jeans in "slim" sizes but they still fall below his butt quite easily. I'm thinking that maybe the rise is too high. Does anyone have any ideas or know of jeans with a lower rise?

I have the same problem with my son and one of my girls. I buy the Cherokee jeans at Target. They have the adjustable waste that really goes small. That is the one thing I have to make sure the pants have. For the elastic waste pants, Children's Place usually works in a size smaller. They are sometimes longer than you would expect. In the worst case, I have sewn "belt loops" on his elastic waist pants. Just a piece of material from an old pair of jeans does the job.
The Childrens Place are the only jeans that fit my kids and don't fall down.
im not sure of the size they go up to but Childrens Place has the ones with the adjustable waist that i have to get for my kids due to being tall and thin. i would check these. i have also found a few at jc penneys too. hope this helps.
My guy is VERY skinny and we have had good luck with SLIM adjustable waist from Gap (but know they are like Old Navy). Childrens place also seem to fit him well...For windpants, try Wes & Willy. They are slimmer fitting with drawstring.
My son is also skinny with no butt..lol. I buy his jeans from The Children's Place and they are great. They wear well and have adjustable waists which I need for his jeans.
We've bought Lands End slim pants for our son before. I felt like they were very slim in the waist and they certainly stayed on our son, although he's got a nice tushy. LOL
Try a pair and see how they work. They were so slim that I'm now buying regular for him...
My oldest is also very tall and slim. I vote for children's place, too.
I have the same problem with my almost 7 yr old. I find the Children's place pants work great because the have the adjustable waist. And they come in a slim. Have been buying these pants for years and years now and they are still going strong after handing down to 2 little brothers :) Good quality for your $
I think Gap slim is slimmer than Old Navy slim (or maybe the handmedowns we have are smaller because they used to size them smaller? Not sure, but it might be worth comparing.)
I agree that Children's Place is worth taking a look. Cherokees fall off my kids - everything from Target seems to be sized for kids with bigger waists and hips than my boys have. But Target does seem to change their styles every year, so it may be the sizes/times I shopped.
Hanna Anderssen is also good. We get handmedowns from a little boy who is also very slim and they seem to have very comfortable, adjustable, and long-lasting clothing in slimmer sizes. (haven't tried jeans, though - although that brings up another point, that elastic-waist pants may be easier to find a fit. We buy a lot of those.)
