Have you tried Harry & David?

they have been around for YEARS... and I grew up with that. It was real special and good.
good luck,

My grandfather is turning 90 on Friday and my brother & I are going to send some candy to him. He likes anything with chocolate and nuts...especially heavenly hash. I would love to find a specialty candy company that takes online orders. I want to make sure the candy is really good quality! Bonus if I can get it in a birthday basket/box. Suggestions?
Just placed an order with River Street Sweets (www.riverstreetsweets.com)...a basket with pralines, glazed pecans, bear claws, peanut brittle and a nougat nut roll! He's going to love it. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Liberty Orchards has really good candy. They specialize in "Turkish Delights" from fruit grown in their orchards but the other candy is delicious as well. Harry and David is excellent as well. There is of course Godiva as well.
We just LOVE chocolate from Bissingers. We don't even share it with the kids. :)
sees candy .. sees candy has an online store too.. and great wraping.
Another vote for Sees Candy! Awesome. Locally, in PA, there is Sarris in Canonsburg, PA. very yummy chocolate. Or what about Ghirardelli? Or Godiva?
The absolute best I've found is out of NY Kron Chocolatiers. The chocolate is like silk and doesn't have a waxy taste to it. I love Godiva and Kron beats 'em hands down, almost no comparison. http://www.kronchocolatier.com/
The Budapest Truffles are my to die for...be ready to pay though, they're not cheap :)
I second harry and david!
Hi Erin,
If he likes chocolate-covered toffee with almonds, our family's absolute favorite is Enstrom's Toffee.
I'll search the website for you, if you're interested.
