B..
Spring/summer I would love a citrus. Winter/fall something like apple spice, or peppermint. I would offer honey/milk at all events. There will always be people who want that, and the same goes for unscented.
Just wondering....I'm going to make candles for a bazaar in the Spring.
What candle fragrances do you like for Spring/Summer and Winter Fall ???
I also will be making soaps...the same, what kind of soaps do you prefer...natural ones such as hoeney/ milk,
lavender....etc, or more fruity, sensual????
Thanks for your input : )
thank you so much for your input, that really helps me alot.....

Cucumber scent is one of my favorites
I like more natural ones - lavender, rose, honey/milk - and sometimes I like "desserty" ones such as, believe it or not, cake frosting. Just the other day I found two small "lemon meringue" candles and they're almost as yummy-smelling as the real thing. And since I'm trying to keep away from the real thing, I'm delighted to have these substitutes.
As others have said, please make some unscented candles for those who need or prefer them. There's a good niche in the market for candles that are beautiful without being "smelly " - especially if you advertise them specifically at your bazaar.
I like citrusy scents but I'm crazy for anything Lemon. Don't know if a lot of people are too.
I love candles! In the fall I love the smell of spices, in winter I love the smell of things that "smell clean" and memory smells, in spring and summer I like the smells of fruit, clean, and some flowers but nothing over powering. As for soaps we stick to things that are more neutral because of soap allergies and husband does not like to smell "Fru Fru" :)
I am not so much into the 'fruity or flowery" smells...I like more the "clean linen" or "Ocean breeze" kinds.
Great project! I have always wanted to make candles...
I would like to have some homemade oatmeal soap. Soap made with milk and honey also sounds nice.
Shea butter, lavendar, eucalyptus, and musky or earthy scents (like patchouli and sandalwood) would be good for both soap AND candles.
You can make some candles from bees wax. Soy candles are usually cleaner burning and have less mess (soot).
I tend to like dessert-smelling candles. Apple/cinnamon, pumpkin spice, caramel, cinnamon roll, cookie, hazlenut, and (some) vanilla. I also like 'clean' scents: clean cotton, lemon, honeysuckle, and light floral.
I absolutely LOVE apple scents any time of the year. I get really bad migraines from time to time and it seems that apple is the one scent that helps the most.
I'm not big on the citrus scent for candles - it makes me think of household cleaners, lol!
There are those of us who don't want scents - allergies, asthma, but still enjoy a burning candle or nice soap.
I love honey.milk soap. Candles - -my favorite is mint.
Good luck!
If I were going for homemade soap, I would prefer honey milk.
Lavender...It smells so clean and pretty. I have a couple candles that are lavendar vanilla and linen spray that's lavendar chamomile...they are both very relaxing scents.
For spring and summer I like the floral scents, but very light.
For the fall, I like apple or spicy type scents.
Vanilla is nice for year round.
