We have had a cruise planned for about a year, paid for it over the summer. We purchased travel insurance through the travel agent.
Has anyone every been able to cancel with trip insurance and gotten your money back? She's telling me someone has to die, get deathly ill or my house has to burn down in order to get our money back.

What can I do next?

Review your policy. It should state it on there.

I think she is right. Check out the insurance policy. Are you sure you have
to cancel?

Travel insurance usually covers lost bags, things of that nature, or if you have to cancel due to death or illness. Usually there is a added fee in the ticket price if it is refundable. I don't think your insurance will cover it if you just cancel.

do you just need the cash now? they won't pay for that.
Did you get pregnant and will be beyond 26 weeks, or whatever the guideline is? Then you might get out of it.
