A Toolbox Christmas - instrumental played with things in a tool box - saws, hammers, etc. Sounds goofy and yes, it is, but it's also kind of cool! :-)
I love music but at Christmas time, I get sick of hearing the same songs over and over. I have found both a traditional guitar instrumental cd and a heavy metal style guitar instrumental cd...love them both. My question is, have any of you heard of any along either of those but drum/percussion?
Thanks!
Thanks ladies. I am just really lookiing for drum/percussion and/or heavy metal instrumental both Christmas and other.

I like Chanticleer, an a capella men's group from San Francisco. My favorite song of theirs is Rio Rio Chio, which is an ancient Spanish Christmas carol and it's easy to dance to. Carols were originally dances. My daughter asked for that song all summer, but I didn't have the CD handy. Hmm, I need to find it.
I also like Dean Shostak, who plays the glass armonica. Talk about ethereal!
The worst Christmas song? Willy Nelson singing "Deck the Halls." I had to scrub that one out of my brain.
I too love, love, love holiday music and probably have 30+ cd's. Everything from 'Natures Noel' to Caribbean Steel Drums. I'll have to go through my cd's and see if any jump out at me.
I agree with the other posters: Trans-Siberian Orchestra may be the heavy-metal CD you're thinking of. There are lots of Christmas guitar CDs, and a lot of hammered-dulcimer ones as well. There have been steel drum Christmas CDs - don't know if they're around now, but you can ask.
When you have some free time, sit down at your computer, go to Amazon, go to Christmas music, and start listening! Many of their products have "listen to" sections where you can hear thirty seconds of a number, and you can start listening for what you'll like best.
Over the years I have gotten into international Christmas music, medieval Christmas music, Christmas carols sung by opera stars of one hundred years ago, big-band '40s Christmas radio programs, *wonderful* choral groups, and much more. Some Christmas albums are great as "wallpaper" at parties - fine for the background - but there are many others that I really love to LISTEN to!
Have you heard of Trans Siberian Orchestra?? Not sure if they are what you are looking for, but AMAZING!! :) Check them out on youtube
I know this isn't what you're asking for, but it's what popped to mind. I really like "Little Drummer Boy," the Jars of Clay version. It has drums. :)
This isn't drums/percussion, but the Sufjan Steven's Christmas album (actually 5 cd's) is pretty awesome. He's a storyteller/folksinger at heart, writing interesting lyrics that are at times simultaneously humorous and sad, and his voice is just beautiful. The album features original songs as well as his renditions of the old favorites. Thank me later!
Go to accuradio.com and select holidays...lost of options there. You might find something new you haven't heard before.
You don't want to handpick songs from iTunes?
Christmas remixed ...I think they have at Amazon. I love it!
