Can You Please Keep My Friend, Her Son and His Surgical Team in Your Prayers?

For those who pray, and/or send positive thoughts, can you please send some to my friend whose son is in a very complicated surgery today? He is almost 8 years old and has a ton of really complex medical issues. Despite all of his challenges, his family has been able to care for him at home and he has had no hospital admissions for over 2 years. He had to have surgery today to address an issue and the surgery is not going well. There are some major complications that the doctors are trying to work through but if they don't come up with a solution, the outcome could be very bad. He is at the best children's hospital and is in the care of a wonderful team of surgeons but there is always risk in his care. Please pray for him, his family, and the doctors who are working on him. Thank you.

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone...please continue to pray. The surgery today was to replace and reposition his central line, a long-term IV placed adjacent to the heart through which he receives all of his nutrition and probably some important medications that can't be administered long-term through other means. That area is blocked by blood clots, which come from a clotting disorder that is at the root of his health issues. They were able to close the surgery and place a temporary midline instead but they really need to sort out the central line problem for him to live. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, thank you!

Prayers said now.

If you call the local LDS temple with your information they'll put him on the prayer role there too.

Absolutely. Prayers for him, for her and the rest of his family, for the skills and hands of the doctors/nurses/surgical team, and for friends like you who are supporting them and shouldering your own load of worries.
