I got a flu shot a few months ago while having a little cold...no fever just the sniffles and a sore throat. I got so sick afterwards I had to stay home for a week, it was awful and I will never do it again.
However sometimes it is indicated if you have a disease for example that makes you more susceptible to infection and complications from infections...even if getting a shot might make you feel awful.

It's really not a good idea. Most doctors won't, if they know you are sick.

My baby had a slight cold the other day, but he was still able to get his vaccinations. I specifically asked and was told that it was okay because he didn't have a fever. If you prefer to wait, I'm sure that's okay too. It's up to you.
Although, my 7 year old daughter was vomiting the day she was supposed to get her flu shot. In this case, the doctor suggested waiting.

The package inserts warn against it. I would never attack my immune system with a vaccination when it is already compromised. It is asking for trouble.

My son had a cold, and they would NOT give him his shots...

I work in an allergy office. We will give allergy shots as long as there's no wheezing (asthmatic) or fever. Personally, I would wait until I felt 100%

What kind of sick?

You shouldn't get one with a fever - in fact, most doctor offices will take your temp first to make sure you don't have one.

A lot places ask you if you are feeling well too. So if this isn't a hypothetical question and you or your child isn't feeling well, I would not get the shot.

Well, I guess it depends.
Last year when I was in ICU with pneumonia, they gave me a pneumonia shot. I was pretty frigging sick and it seemed a little late for the vaccination, but I wasn't in a position to argue. It certainly didn't make me any sicker.

I think this would stricly depend on the age of the patient, the nature of the illness and the type of vaccine.

Just my opinion.

My pedi will not give vacs if there is fever or any visible sickness other than run of the mill allergies.
