The best thing to do is ask your doctor, also to check it out online. The La Leache League boards (http://www.lalecheleague.org/home_intro.html) and Kellymom (http://kellymom.com/) are a great way to find out breastfeeding information. Your doctor should also have a book that contains scripts and if they are safe to take while nursing. Good Luck!!!

I was going to recommend La Leche League, but it seems that others have beaten me to it. That's one of the best places to check with, although I had a lactation consultant that I would ask everything.

Sahara,

I would try Arbonne. I am a breastfeeding mother myself and as a first time mom I am very careful about the products I use. Arbonne's policy is pure, safe and beneficial so they always have the best products using the highest quality ingredients. They have a system for acne called Clear Advantage that works really well. Of course you always want to consult your doctor to be sure. Clear Advantage has a wash, toner and lotion as well as a supplement. They also have a 45 day money back policy so you can try the product and return it if you are not satisfied. I use another of Arbonne's skin care systems RE9 and various supplements including an omega vitamin (recommended by my doctor while pregnant or nursing) as well as their weight loss products (to help with the post childbirth weight) and I really love them all. You can get more information about the products online at www.getresults.myarbonne.com also if you click on product information it tells you a little more about what Arbonne puts into their products and there is a link on that page at the bottom to the botanical glossary which will tell you a little more about all the ingredients. Please let me know if you would like any more information or have any questions.

I'd be cautious with acne medications. Check with your doctor or pediatrician. Lactation specialists are also great sources for anything regarding breastfeeding. They'll know more about it than your doctors.

No, you can't. You can't even have a glass of wine and go home and breast feed.

I agree with Marcie B! If you have any doubts or questions, call your local La Leche League, ask your doctor or visit kellymom.com or breastfeeding.com. You can do just about anything while breastfeeding, just in moderation. There's not a thing I DON'T do while breastfeeding that I didn't do before. I still have an occasional drink while out with my husband, I eat what I want, I still have caffeine and my daughter is GREAT! If you want to talk with another BFing mom, I'd be more than happy to help you out.

I agree with everyone who mentioned checking with your doctor. I also agree with the gals who said to try Arbonne instead of what you were using before. These are fabulous products and are pure, safe and natural - no chemical dyes or fragrances, no mineral oil, no animal by-products. Defintely give the Clear Advantage system a try. I was using Clinique products before Arbonne too, and have been absolutely impressed with the results I've had! Good luck! I think it's always better to err on the side of caution.
Take care, M.

I'm not sure about the products you mentioned, but I've heard wonderful stories from using an all natural skin care product. You can get a 7 day supply for an inexpensive price ($14.95) to try. www.MTskincare.com has the "travel set" (7 day supply) sample that you can purchase. You can email me for more info if you would like. I've tried it myself and it's great! Hope this helps.
