Hi Jilly-
I 'second' the 'are you pregnant question!
If so...congrats...if not, maybe he is ready to wean!
Either way...congrats!!

Dear Mommas, After 2 years and 2 months of bfeeding, my son makes a face like my breast milk is not tasty to him any more. I asked him and he said yes to my question. I offered him water and a cuddle and he went to sleep. Can this happen that the taste of my milk is no longer appealing?
I am OK with this if my son is, and he seems to be. He smiles each nite as if he knows the milk will not be tasty...asks for it anyway, and then indicates he does not want....
Anyone else go through this?
Thanks Jilly

If he doesn't want it, it sounds he's ready to move on. The reason why doesn't matter.
Never had this issue but it sounds to me like your son is telling you he is ready to wean.
sounds like he is weaning himself. I would let it go and not force the issue.
It may just be your diet or something on your skin...but he seems more than old enough to be weaned.
I think at a certain point their taste/pallet changes.
Are you pregnant? :)
Could be something you ate, a phase, or ? You never know with a 2yr old. Jsut follow his lead. Congratulations on nursing for 2yrs!
If he asks... offer it as usual. Nursing toddlers go thru phases just as they do their first year of breastfeeding. Don't take it personal and don't force a wean if you are still alright with your child nursing.
No, this has not happend to me but I hear it does happen if you are pregnant. I would also like to add that I am jealous since my son is 2 1/2 and still loves to nurse before bed at night. No indications of wanting to give it up. This is a blessing!!
Yeah, he's getting older, he may be more interested in the texture and taste of cow's milk at this point.
Also, hormonal changes can effect the breastmilk taste.
I would just start offering him milk in a glass, sounds like he is ready.
i had this issue with my oldest 2 at about 22 months. they would just turn away and rock to sleep. after about a week they quit asking. what a perfect way to wean:) my 3rd is 21 months and still nursing- i'm almost hoping he does the same so i don't have to wean:)
