Can the Water in My Kiddie/wading Pool Be Kept Clean for a Few Days???

Hello Mommies.

I've been using a wading pool with my two babies and I find myself having to dump the water out after each use. Ok, 1. - it takes some work to do so, 2. - sure feels like I'm being a big water hog. Now, the only good feeling would be the feeling of my babies having "clean" water at each use. Do you know of anything I can do to maintain the water clean for a few days (2-3 days or so)? Again, it's a small round hard shell plastic wading pool, no filter available. Is there anything I can add into the water that can help it keep clean "without" it being harmful to my babies? Please share your helpful tips with me.

Thank you, M.

NO real sugestion on keeping the water clean for a few day. So that I don't feel like a water hog I bucket most of the water out and water my plants and trees with it. Then once it is pretty much empty I just dump the rest out. Hope that helps with conserving water.

I would dump it out. with little babies that are not potty trained, and without any bacteria inhibitors in there???? Yikes.

My experience is that you have to refill it every time you want to use it. You say babies...does that mean they are in swim diapers? I know some people refer to their adult kids as babies, so I wasn't exactly sure of the age. ^_^ If they are in swim diapers, you HAVE to change the water every time. If not, the urine in the pool could grow lots of yucky things like bacteria since swim diapers only hold their solids and not the urine. However, if they are potty trained, you can always tarp it and use it for two days. I would never use it longer than that though. My daughter is constantly getting in and out of her little pool, so grass, bugs, and other yard debris will end up in the pool, too. This is really yucky after a day. I wish I had more help, but this is just what I have experienced. I hate feeling like a water hog, too!! I guess it is better to be a water hog and keep your babies healthy though. ^_^
