Can Menstruation Lower Weight?

My period finally came back after 15 months of having baby. I have had two menstrual periods since, 3 weeks apart. I notice I lost 5 pounds since, I have not done any diet, I have been eating the same amounts of food as before, so why did I loose weight? I am already skinny and losing weight only makes me look too fragile..could it be the fact I am menstruating again, i am a little concern.

What can I do next?

Could be water weight that goes up and down during your cycle. It's possible that you were retaining water and starting your period got rid of that

Were you breastfeeding? If so, and you stopped, then you probably lost those last maternal fat stores- that fat your body retains to feed the baby.

If you were holding water, then you can drop the water weight during your period.
I use to fluctuate 5 lbs every month which would be gone by the 2nd day of my period.
Did you notice if you craved salty foods beforehand?
That's part of it.
