My DD is 3, and she saw them when we were flipping through Netflix. She asked to watch, and I let her. She only watched a couple episodes before she got bored with it... But I didn't think there was anything wrong with it.
Hi helpful mamas! I was just talking with my son about some of our favorite shows from the (fairly recent) past, and we talked about the Powerpuff Girls. I used to LOVE that show and I have it on DVD. I've been wanting to share it with my now-5-year-old but I'm wondering if age 5 is too early to watch that show. The types of shows she watches now are whatever is on Disney Jr. or Nick Jr., and sometimes My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Powerpuff Girls has some violence in it, though it's fantastical super-hero-fighting-villians stuff. I was just wondering if there are any Powerpuff Girls fans among you, and how old were your children when you let them see this show. Many thanks for your advice, it will be interesting to have a discussion about this :) *Peace*!

It's Powerpuff Girls, not Adventure Time.
Yes, it's a good choice for a 5 year old.
We started Powerpuff girls, together this summer, my son is 6. One of the things I like to do is talk about what is going on and make sure he distinguishes TV from real life. I love to randomly bring up something that goes on in TV, but not in real life and hear him tell me that we only do that on TV. I feel our time talking about what we watch and see helps his ability to see the entertainment part of TV and not to be inspired to follow along.
So, I think that it will depend on your child's ability to differentiate TV from real life and how you guys approach violence in TV.
PPG is fine for five.
Sure. She might get a little bored watching but it's a cute show. My girls loved it when it was on.
I think it would be fine. My older son has seen it. Probably watched it around that age. It's mostly superhero stuff nothing too crazy.
We've been watching Powerpuff Girls since my daughter was 3.
My 12, 9 & 4 year old all love Power Puff Girls! I have some on DVD and it's now on Boomerang as well.
I find nothing inappropriate with it at all. It's all very cartoonish and really cute.
I remember this show, but never watched it. I know there are criticisms for a lot of children's "programming" and I think it's a good thing to consider the criticism for yourself.
Marcia Montengro wrote a book called SPELLBOUND: THE PARANORMAL SEDUCTION OF TODAY'S KIDS on this topic

I did a google search for "Powerpuff Girls satanic" and found a few weird things.
Well this is disturbing.
