I have the fix up the house bug.

Our bathroom has a off white sink (porcelain?) and tub surround (fiberglass?). I want to update our bathroom. Is there a way to paint the sink and the tub surround?

Do you have any product recommendations?

Thank you -- M.

I used to work for Home Depot, and did this as a DIY Class. In the paint section they have a kit for painting bathtubs, sinks, potty's surrounds. It has been a few years since I worked there so unfortunately I can't remember the name of the product. Just ask either a kitchen and bath or paint specialist. It's really easy to do and doesn't take much time. Just be sure to follow the directions exactly. I actually did my moms hall way bathroom - it was really outdated, all olive fixtures! She chose the sand color and you can't even tell they were refinished! Good Luck!

yes, there is paint called epoxy, you can get it at Menards for about $ 20.
You have to mix the the solutions togehter and apply, just have to sand the sink first. It's suppose to be easy to use, just need extreme well ventilation, and wear a mask. You can google epoxy paint for sinks or bathtubs.

I don't know if it would work. I would think if you just painted it...it would chip off since fiberglass is such a slick surface and if you sanded first...well then you would have a gritty surface. Have you looked at hgtv.com and checked out their bathroom remodel suggestions. Alot of times you can find recycled countertops or ideas at least to make older things look better. Good luck.

I am not sure how to do it but I know it can be done. When we took the sliding glass doors off of your bath tub there was an olive green strip underneath.
