Can I Freeze GoGurts That Are About to Expire

I bought a big box of gogurts from Costco because my daughter wanted them, and in the past has eaten the whole box before the expire. However, this time she has barely eaten them and they expire tomorrow. I know I can freeze them to put in the lunches, but what about to freeze to eat after the expiration date. Would you freeze to eat later, or just have a yogurt frenzy over the next two days.

What can I do next?

We freeze them before they expire all the time and eat them later. The kids practically live off them in the summer when it's so hot.

Freeze and eat later. If you freeze them before they expire, they are frozen before they expire. That means they are frozen at that date, so they are definitely still good when they are taken out.

Now, when you take them out you want to eat them soon or they will "expire."

If you ever look at a package or meat or refrigerated pasta it will often say, "Use or freeze by ... " If you freeze on or before the expiration date, you're good.

Freeze and eat later - I used to do that all the time when my kids were younger to save myself from having to throw them out.

Oh yeah, go ahead and freeze it.

As long as it's frozen before the expiration date, it's perfectly fine.

Yogurt is still okay past the due date. It would probably be safe to leave them refrigerated and still eat them past the due date.

I thought GoGurts were freezer items so mine are always kept in the freezer...aren't they the long skinny tubes of yogurt that kids push up to eat them?

The box says that being frozen will help keep other food cold and by lunch they'll be thawed a bit. I thought that meant they were freezer items I guess.

Yep. Been there, done that. They love to eat them while frozen! It extends the 'shelf life' by a long time.
