I'm new to the area and I need to find a pediatrician for my 2 year old son. I'm trying to find an office that is kid friendly and a doctor who doesn't rush to get to the next patient. Any recommendations will be appreciated, also any info on doctors to avoid. Thanks!

Hi M.!

I am also from Califonia, moved out here to Utah 2 years ago. When I got here, finding a pediatrican was the first thing on my list.
I take my 1 year old daughter to Dr. Dustin Wise in Pleasant Grove, he may not be in American Fork, but he is just right down the street from American Fork hospital. It's pretty close to his office. We love Dr. Wise. He is very friendly, takes his time, and always answers my questions, never have I had to wait long in the office while waiting to be seen, and making appointments or getting in for an emergency has always been easy and convienent.
Good Luck!

I take my kids to Alpine Pediatrics, in American Fork. They have several offices, and I've never met a doctor there I didn't like. Their telephone number is ###-###-####, and they have a website, where you can get info on all their doctors.(Alpinepeds.com) Dr. Whiting, and Dr. Arnold are great, but all of them are. They will take the time with you too, if you'd like to meet with them first before choosing a specific pediatrician. There is always a nurse available if you have any questions. Recently, I took my 5 year old for "K Days". They basically make getting their kindergarten shots as fun as possible. They get treats, and a passport to kindergarten, and a photo with the doctor. I really like the special attention they give to children there. Utah Valley Pediatrics was the previous office I went to. I really liked a Dr. Jennifer Brenton, but she retired. I actually went to the Orem office, and I wasn't too impressed. Whenever I took my children in, it seemed like they always had to see a nurse, as the doctors were too busy, and they always seemed to be diagnosed with ear infections and given anti-biotics. In one incident, I took my daughter back in to a doctor who said there was no ear infection. I really like the Alpine Pediatrics office in American Fork. They have after hours, and a nice, clean office with separate entryways for sick children, and well children. I have twin girls who are 13 months old, a 4 year old son, and a 5 year old daughter. Let me know if you need anything else, anytime!

Hi M.-

Welcome to UTAH! I take my kids to Utah Valley Pediatrics, it is right next to American Fork hospital. We see Dr. Mumford and I think he is great! He always takes the time to explain things, answer my questions - he never just rushes out. They have great hours there and the nurses are always SO good to call back if you just have a question. Good luck.

I really like Alpine Pediatrics in American Fork. Dr. Arnold is really good with kids, he's our favorite. Check them out at www.alpinepeds.com They are just down the street from the Hospital in AF.

Good luck!
