REAL Brand is good and Skippy natural has no added sugar and doesn't need to be refrigerated.
i'm a peanut butter junkie- i swear it's my favorite food- Skippy is hands down the best :) I feed my son only very healthy foods and have decided that i need to start doing the same for my self. can anyone recommend a good natural peanut butter w/ out all the sugar that still tastes like peanut butter??
thanks so much!

Skippy Natural is very good. It does have sugar, but it is real sugar as opposed to corn syrup. Real is always better. No hydrogonated oils either.
BTW if you ate a lot of PB during your pregnancy or while nursing, be aware that your son may be more likely to have a peanut allergy. Talk to his ped, but I'd say don't let him have peanuts until he is at least 2. My eldest has a peanut allergy (not real severe) and PB&J's were about the only thing I could eat during my first trimester and I too love it. I ate them throughout my preg and while nursing to help keep up my calorie intake. I radically reduced my pb consumption with my younger two and no allergies... I never heard of this connection until AFTER my eldest was diagnosed. With all the food allergies out there, it seems like this connection should be publicized more.
If you are a Costco member, they have an organic/natural peanut butter that is fabulous. You can find it near the cheese in the cold items section. I can't recall the name, but it is fantastic.

I agree with buying organic. I usually buy a homemade one at the deli of our co-op. Another good one that is easy to find at Super Target is Smuckers Organic. It has no added salt, sugar, or hydrogenated oils.
We used to use East Wind natural peanut butter, but since I discovered that Target's Archer Farms has organic products, I decided to give that a try. Yum! Archer Farms also has a bigger selection of organic, natural and whole wheat pastas than my Coborns does.
The Skippy Natural peanut butter is very good.
First off, if you eat that much PB, you should consider buying organic. PB is one of the foods on the "dirty dozen", meaning that it has tons and tons of chemicals, pesticides, etc. that were sprayed on it while the peanut plant grew. I like the organic Archer Farms brand from Target. Another thing to consider if you are not going to buy organic is to check the label and be sure there are no hydrogenated oils are in it.
