I am looking for a good therapist or counselor to talk to in North Dallas. We live in North Dallas between Richardson & Addison. I have struggled with depression for a couple of years (probably longer really) and have been having anxiety attacks frequently this last year. I've been understandably under a lot of stress this year due to my daughter having a heart transplant. Sometimes I think I just need someone to talk to. I have been on medications for both, but would like to add some therapy to my treatment. My depression seems to have been getting worse lately. My husband and I have both tried therapists in the past that we basically just picked out of the phone book, insurance page, etc - but haven't had any luck finding one we like, so I'd really like to find a reccommendation for a good one that people have had good luck with. Thank you for your help.

I would recommend Pam Abernathy at ROCA counseling center. She is right off of 635 at Walnut/Abrams in Richardson. My husband and I saw her for some minor marriage issues but I also go see her when I need help getting back on track. She is wonderful and truly helps me out! Her number is ###-###-####.

I know this is an older question, but if you are still looking or if others who run across this are looking for a counselor in North Dallas, you might want to check out the New Horizons Center for Healing. It recently opened in McKinney, TX just North of Dallas. I've been able to meet several of their counselors on staff and they are really easy to talk with and you are not just stuck with one counselor because they have several counselors at the facilities. You can find info about them at http://mydallascounselor.com. It's a really neat facilities and I am so glad they opened here in North Dallas. I hope you have been able to find some help through the difficult times.
