I have a chico highchair and I love enerything about it except for the fact that the seat cover does not go in the washing machine. It has to be surfaced washed. Ugh! I can't seem to ever get it truly clean. Are there highchair seat covers out there that I can put on top and then take off and wash in the washing machine? Does such a thing exist?

Second question: My little angel is in the "put every speck of dirt off of the floor into her mouth" phase, and like the high chair, I can't seem to successfully keep up with the floor cleaning. I either use a good ol' sweep broom, or have to lug out the big heavy vacuum cleaner. Do any of you use a light weight vacuum cleaner that does a thorough job, but is good for easy daily use?

Recommendations on either thing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I saw the coolest little vaccuum cleaner being used while I was dining at Mama's Kitchen in Lake Worth. It was made by Dirt Devil and looked like a rechargable unit. It had a flex rod so that the man could easily vaccuum the crumbs under all the chairs and tables. I would try Target.

For your highchair go to babies r us, the have a great fabric cover that fits most highchairs and I've had mine for 2 years and it goes in the wash almost everyday and still looks new. As far as the vaccum I use a light weight dyson. It's a God send, it also get used every day. It's a little pricer than others, but I got tired of having to buy a new vaccum every two years or so because the motor would just burn up from so much use. This I've had 3 years and still going strong, after 3 girls and 3 cats. Hope this helps!!

I have an Oreck electric broom if they still make them....I use it all the time on my tile floors (I have 2 shedding dark haired dogs and white tile floors!!) I love my Oreck it is totally worth the money. There's a store in Boca at 441 and Glades, and another in Plantation....I'm not sure where you are.

LOL my dd is now 15 and still sings to herself....when she was your daughter's age she used to dance to the weather channel music....it still makes me smile!

I have a swiffer vac that i like very much. It's very lightweight, and great for quick everyday spot-cleaning. I use it 95% of the time, because i ,too, don't feel like bothering with my big heavy oreck. It is superb for bathroom floor cleaning, picks up hair really well. Also perfect for pergo-type laminate floors that cannot be cleaned with a wet mop. It does a good job picking up food crumbs after a meal. I bought mine in Wallmart 3-4 years ago, it still works great. I remember getting a $6 off coupon off swiffer.com, and the whole thing cost me around $22. There are some drawbacks: it's rechargeable, but the charge doesn't last very long. I can only do 2-3 rooms at a a time. Also, you have to keep buying cloths. Happy cleaning!
