Can a Car Fit 3 Carseats?

we have 3 car seats in a dodge intrepid. utah law requires the infant car seat to be in the middle. it's not too bad to reach over a booster seat to put it in and out, it's just a little more nerve wracking to have our 3 yr old wait next to the car unattended while we do it. even though we could have fit the convertible seat for the 3 yr old, we figured a booster (with no back) would be easier because there is no bulky arm to lift up and down and possibly hit against the baby's seat. but it also means he can reach the baby easier, which is not always good. the other thing that changed when we put the third carseat in is that our 5 yr old could no longer get his own seatbelt on and off. that can be good or bad, depending on the kid. he was good about buckling and unbuckling himself at the right times, so we miss that.

By the time your 3 yr old has the new baby sibling, he will be able to sit in a booster I bet. I was watching my neighbors 2 kids the other day and with my daughter I had two cars seats and a booster seat in my car. the booster was in the middle. It all fit just fine.

totally possible. My brother-in-law and his wife had 3 car seats in a little Dodge Neon for a while. I'm not sure about brands, but if you have a babies r us near you, the will let you take seats out to your car with an associate to try out the fit. Good luck! 3 under 4... you're brave!

It depends on which car you have. I know only certain cars will fit 3 car seats in the back seat. My parents had a Ford Taurus and that fit 3 car seats in the back seat easily, but my Ford Escort wouldn't.

I drive a Honda Accord. We fit 3--a Graco baby carrier w/base, an evenflo convertible carseat, and an evenflo booster seat. It's snug, but it works. Of course we can't give any one else a ride which poses a problem for having friends over, so we're saving up for a minivan.
