Hello all!! My family has started camping and we love it. What are your recommendations for a good sturdy tent. Our tent was didn't hold up to well this past weekend when we had a windstorm. Thanks Moms

I think REI has the best tents, but they are pricey. You will never have to replace it, though.

I like this one. I think this is the one we have.

I like it because it has two sections - it has an awning and the screened in area allows you to come in and take your shoes off so you don't get dirt, sand, mud, water, etc. in the sleeping area.

If it's particularly buggy - you can sit in the screened area and play games, cards, etc.

Have fun!!!

We have a Coleman. I can't say we've been in any serious weather with it, and we camp in pretty sheltered areas, but we have been happy with it.

You should go to Cabelas. We were there a few weeks ago and they had a good collection of Colman tents. They also had quite a few on sale and some of the discontinued tents on sale.

Also Acadamy, puts them on sale all of the time.. Go check them out and then watch for their sales.

We have a nemo and love it! It is super light weight if you are hiking in or backpacking, set up is quick, and when it rained we were nice and dry. Couldn't say enough good things about it, it is a little more expensive then some others, but worth it for us. I think our older ones are Coleman, which are good too.

We have had two Coleman tents that we like very much. One served us for 10 years before we replaced it with a cabin style tent b/c the zipper on the main door won't stay zipped anymore. We go to an annual event where there is often a storm (hey, it's summer, thunder happens) and the tents never blew in. Now, your mileage may certainly vary, but that's been our experience with Coleman.
