Anyone know of a great camping location that has affordable cabins for a weekend? Its for 2 families w/10 people total. It can be one big cabin to fit everyone or 2 small cabins next to each other. It has to be within an hour drive of Fort Worth. Would prefer a wooded atmosphere for hiking, and must be able to have campfires. Its not necessary to be "on" the lake since its not warm enough to swim. We don't have fishing equip. either. But we'll take a lake setting if its cheap enough. Thanks so much!

Darn, Our favorite place was Bastrop state park. The little cabins are like the Three Bears cottages.. Right now, since the big fire last year, they are not renting.. But keep it in mind for the future.

DO google FT Worth Dallas, Texas State parks,

Then do a different search Cabins for rent, Ft Worth, Dallas..

Google Federal and Texas parks. Many have cabins and the parks are always amazing.

Joe Pool Lake has cabins to rent. I think they are right on the water and looked pretty nice. I think they are @ $100 per night. You should be able to find information about them online.

Lake Murray State Park in Oklahoma. About 30-45 minutes north of the TX/OK border on I-35.

KOA has cabins at some of their campsites, but definitely check it out before you book it. We stayed in a cabin last summer, and as we were leaving, the people in cabin next to us told us they found bed bugs. UGH! I guess you gotta check everywhere, but it makes me wonder how well those cabins are cleaned. :( We didn't have any, but boy were we scared! Have fun!
