Hello! My family is going camping next weekend we have a 4 year old boy, 2 year old girl, and a 2 1/2 month baby girl! I was just wondering how to bath my baby girl? In the past I took my son in the shower with me but I remember almost dropping him half way through the shower because babies are slippery little buggers when they are wet! Then with my oldest daughter we would do just wipee bathes (we only camp for a weekend fri-sun) but I would really like to be able to bath my baby girl on this camping trip so we don't interrupt her sleep routine. I feel like we are already taking everything with us so I don't want to drag the baby bath along. Any other ideas?

What can I do next?

We have a blow up duck that we put my son in just enough for her to sit in is all you need.. We bring a rubber maid tub for food, you could use something like that.. or the sink in the bathroom. I guess it depends on what type of camping you are doing.

Tent Camping- with only non flush toilets
Tent Camping - with flush toilets
Camper etc.

Heck. The routine will already be interrupted by the camping. You'll only be gone for the weekend. Skip the bath.

I camp all the time. And we took our kids as babies. Honestly, I never even think or worry about baths. We usually do sponge type baths with a little water. Assuming you are tent camping...her weekend schedule is just going to be a little off for a few days. She'll bounce back.

When my kids were small we too enjoyed camping. We always camped close to a water source. Sorry guys, I took em in the creek and sat em in my lap and soaped them down rinsed them off and handed them off to their Dad who would be waiting with a towel. If you aren't camping by a creek or river, if your camp site has a water spigot, you can take a large bucket and fill it with water for a makeshift tub. If you don't want to take a bucket, then if your cooler chest has a removable lid that is deep enough to hold water you could use that in a pinch. Have fun and make some GREAT memories!

My wife and I would use a soft kitchen hand towel to wash with and another to dry off with. All you really need is a water source. You can use a serving bowl for the soapy water and another for the rinse water.

Good luck to you and yours.

How about whatever you wash your dishes in? I have a plastic dishpan, and I heat up the water over the fire or on the stove. I could wash a baby in it. I personally didn't bathe them when we camped when they were that little.

You could take stuff to wash the sink out in the bathroom and give her a bath in the sink. Or you can take a container that she can at least sit in that you can put water I can't remember what they are actually called. They fit in the kitchen sink usually. It would be easier than the bath tub.

Just bring along an infant bathtub, or use a rubbermaid tote.

The dishpan suggestion is fine. Skipping the bath is also fine. One thing to mention about bathing in the evenings is that mosquitoes are out in full force during that time, so consider being inside a screened area or keeping her well-covered-- all that baby skin may just be too tempting for the pesky critters to leave alone.

we have camped alot and honestly we have never really given them a bath while out.

I have brought alot of baby wipes with me and gave them a good wipe down before going to bed to get most of the dirt off of them. But we never washed them with soap and water.

A baby wipe ( or actually a few) can clean them off good enough until you get home and you all take a shower.

Totally doable to use an infant bathtub either in the public bathroom or in a cabin/tent/pop up. Have fun!
