Calcium Deposit on Nipple?

I have a 4 1/2 month old daughter; she has a white bump on her right nipple about the size of a pin head and it’s hard. My friend said it looks like a calcium deposit. I called the doctor and they said that if it does not seem to bother her then they would check it out on her 6-month appointment. Does anyone know if what I am describing is a calcium deposit or something else? Should I be worried?

What can I do next?

E.,
If you have taken her to the doctor and they are saying not to worry, then I would just continue to watch it, and if something changes take her in immediatley , but chances are that it is just a calcium deposit and there is nothing to worry about.
Good luck and Best wishes.

Hi E.! I have had small (pinhead size) calcium deposits around my eyes since I was born. They are hard, look like pimples, and may be white to yellow in color. They dont "pop" when squeezed so dont try. They arent anything to worry about at all. Although they may never go away, it doesnt bother me in the least, I hardly remember that they are there. My doctor said (when I was younger) that my body processed calcium in a different way (lactose intolerance) and these deposits were a side effect of that. Dont worry about it, its nothing serious.

shortly after my daughter was born she got 3 little white bumps on her face. my mom told me it was baby acne and that it would go away. well, the one on the side of her nose, and the one under her eye went away. then i noticed that the one on the bottom of her nose turned the color of her skin. i asked her doctor about it and she told me that it was a virus that infants and small children pick up and not to worry that it usually goes away on its own. there is something they can put on it to make it go away, but it causes scaring and they only like to use it on ones that are in "hidden places" like; the back, legs, or arms, ect. they also told me that it was very itchy for them too. i alway just thought that her nose was itching her in general, but when they told me that i realized all this time she had been itching that bump. i know it sounds easy for me to say that i wouldn't worry about it unless it starts looking diffrent or she starts seeming uncomfortable about it because i know i would be freaking out about it if it were one of my kids.

Not sure if it's the same thing, but my son had a bump like that right next to the nipple. The Dr. told me not to bust it (it would just come back and bigger) and it would go away on it's own. I think at the time, she said it could be a clogged duct...yeah, babies get those too.

It didn't bother him and I left it alone. It did go away. I don't remember when though. He was about a month when I saw it, and it was DEFINITELY gone well before his 1st b-day. He's 2 now and it hasn't come back.
