My 3 yr old has a few cactus thorns on one of her fingers. What is the best way to remove them? When she was asleep last night, I took some off off with a flash light (in my mouth), a magnifying glass and tweezers. I can still see some and her finger still hurts. I want to get to them quickly to avoid any infection. Thank you!

I had a similar experience last year with my son but on a much larger scale. The ER doc we saw said that the risk of infection from cactus needles is minimal and the needles will eventually work their way out. He did tell us to soak the area in warm water. Put her in a bathtub and after 10-15 minutes you could try working the needles out.

I am not sure if this will work but I read somewhere you can take splinters out with duct tape. Also, I heard you can take Elmers white glue and spread it over the area that has the splinter. Then when it dries you can peel the glue off and the splinters with it. Good luck.

Try rubing her fingers thru your hair, this creates static that pulls off the thorns.
Or chew a chewing gum and once its soft, press it to the finger, the thors will stick to it.

if you are close to whole foods market or any other palce that has tussie salts, buy a bottle of Silica 6X or 12X. let her eat 3 of those little pellets every several hours, for a few days. it'll drive out even what you can't see

She is at risk for infection.
This happens to us all the time because we grow a number of cactus to feed to our tortoises. Soak them in warm water. You have to soak for a while, then they just sort of push themselves up and you can get them out easily with tweezers.
My neighbor told me when her son had cactus thorns in his foot they covered the area with glue, let it dry and pulled off the glue. She said she thinks it got all the thorns out because after that her son could walk on his foot and said it no longer hurt. It's worth a try. Good Luck!
