i choose just about anything over comcast, as a matter of fact i did, i got so tired of dealing with them that I had all my services from them cut off, and got digital converter boxes .

I think anybody , any service or none is better than comcast.

We love out direct tv. The only problem we have ever had was last year. It snowed so much a couple of times that the reciever part of the dish got covered. Hubby brushed the snow off and we were back to Dora and Wonderpets. We have been with them for 5 years with no problems. If you know someone local that has it, get their service or phone number and put it on the application. You will get $100 and they will get $100!!! Free money is always cool! Oh, we pay about $67 per month and have two televisions and one or two steps up from the basic package. We don't have any "premium" or movie channels though.

We looked into switching to Direct TV, but my issue with them is that you are forced to be on a contract with them if you take advantage of one of their deals. Basically, if my hubby and I hated them, we would pay a fortune (literally hundreds of dollars) to get out of it. Our cable provider doesn't force us to sign a contract, so we figure it leaves us a cheap out (since we really weren't sure about the quality of Direct TV). Good luck...I hate dealing with cable!

We had Dish Network for awhile, service was pretty good, nothing really to complain about. You don't really get that many channels with the cheaper service plans though. The TV did go out when it got really stormy, but I remember cable doing that sometimes too. Depending on who your telephone service is through, you may be able to bundle your services and save money.

I currently hve Dish Network. We have had them for years. The service iteself is fine, however, I am not happy with them at this point and looking to switch to Direct TV only because we have not had a 2nd TV for some time. When we first got the service reinstated (originally setup for the building with the 2nd floor as primary and we were secondary tv), we had 2 TVs. They charged a fee because the line was not connected to the phone. Once we connected it we still got charged and they said it was because they changed the policy. they will not disconnect the 2nd TV unless I give them a credit card to autopay every month. Not doing that and tired of paying them an extra $65 a year for nothing. When you decide who to go with, make sure you ask about everything, including additional TVs and changes. You should also get an agreement when first installed. We didn't.

We had Comcast for a year, then switched to Dish Network. We had several issues with Comcast over that year, and anyone I know that has had Comcast stays with it for the first year and switches to another service after that. I have no complaints with Dish Network except for losing service during storms, but that is expected..it's been a little over a year that we've had them and we don't plan on switching.

We have Direct TV, and have liked it for many years. Dish Network could not get our set up right when we tried them, and they did not really seem that keen on trying to fix our problem, since we could not actually view andy of the programing, I can't tell you anything about that service, execpt that our experience was not good. Moving is a breeze with Direct tv, the chanels stay the same, which I like.

We've had DirecTV for years and it has been wonderful. Even living in west Michigan where we get tons of snow and severe weather from across Lake Michigan, it has been great. We didn't even mount the dish on our home--we mounted it on the deck and several neighbors mounted theirs independent of their homes as well. There have been maybe 3-4 times in the several years we've had it that we had to brush the snow off the receiver portion to get better reception. We have a little broom we use to sweep off the deck on occasion and use it to brush the snow off the dish when needed as well. SOoooooooo much better than dish and comcast were for us. The customer service seems to depend on the person you get (as it does with every company) :)

Direct TV sucks. I had it, and when I had to move to an area that couldn't support it (in the mountains, too many trees to get a signal) they refused to work with me on cancellation... also, before I moved my TV would freeze or digitalize on me... when it rained or snowed too much I would also lose a signal. blegh. Also, whenever I had issues with my receivers I always had a hard time getting help. In my experiences, the customer service sucked.

We have DirecTV and have had it for almost 15 years (hubby had it before we got married). We never have any issues and love it. We even got my mom to switch from Comcast a couple months ago and she is so happy and wishes she had dumped Comcast years ago. Comcast is horrible, especially for customer service. Directv has been wonderful to work with!

For my mom, her cost is about what it is with Comcast for a lot more channels. We do the sports packages that are offered so our bill is higher.

We left Comcast due to increaesed prices & went to Direct TV. We were soooooo disappointed with the clairty picture wise compared to Comcast. Immediatly cancelled Direct TV and went back to Comcast (and got a lower rate just for cancelling and coming back!!). Had to fight a $500 contract cancellation with Direct TV for over 2 years and still am not sure it's settled. Plus you have a dish on the side of your house which I am NOT a fan of.

Comcast just increased my internet again from $15 to $45 and could only reduce it to $30 to keep me as a customer. We just switched to WOW. Pretty happy. Quality of picture is great (like Comcast) and prices were just slightly cheaper for a little more. Only thing I don't like is I don't think they have as many On Demand things for us. No exercise tv (on demand), things like Sprout for the kids...there are 2-3 different shows under each category where Comcast had 6-10. Our price with WOW is locked in until 2012 (no contract), so I'm sure I will be looking around again come a year and a half.

Can u get Att's Uverse? That is the best service to me. You can dvr 4 shows at the same time and they have whole house dvrs which means you can record and watch on any dvr. I just moved and Uverse is not here so I went with directv. This is my first time with satellite and it goes out for a few minutes every time it rains hard. Plus, you can only dvr 2 shows at a time. Ehh, I'm not particularly impressed...However, I like it better than when I had comcast.

We had satelite for awhile, but we have too many trees tha if we don't trime them...they are really big, they get in the way of the signal. We also had an issue that every time a storm would come, it would go out. Then we had Comcast for TV and internet.....REALLY expensive, like $190 per month for what we wanted. Now we have WOW! It's $100 less a month than Comcast. We don't have ALL the channels we want but it was worth the switch. If you don't have trees and want to save $$, the satelite would be a good idea!

We have Dish Network and love it. Yes we do occasionally have problems with the TV going out but only when it rains VERY hard or it the snow gets so deep in our roof. We have had the dish for 8 yrs and the instances of this happening are not too bad. We just keep a video or a game ready in case and end up with some great family time. Love the selection of channels.
