I had my baby girl 5 weeks ago and didn't have any issues...then all the sudden yesterday my incision started to bleed a little in one spot and is still bleeding today. It's a little sore too. Should I be worried? I'm not sure if I should call the on-call doc at my ob/gyn's office or if it can wait till Monday. Anyone know?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Called the doctor...she's not too worried about it - told me to keep it clean and dry and put some neosporin on it. If it gets worse or is still bothering me she told me to call the office on Monday and come in to see her.

i would call the on call doc - you could have a small infection - or just a scab that came loose. either way, you have a baby to take care of now and you need to be healthy!! Can't hurt to make a call

I agree call your doctor. You could have a scab coming off, an infection, or broken a stitch. If your doctor is unavailable go to an urgent care rather than ER.

I agree to not be too worried, especially if the doc doesn't seem to be. I had the same thing happen after my son. A little spot between two stitches didn't close good. Just watch it and keep it VERY clean...mine ended up infected. I'll spare you the details, but it wasn't pleasant...! Congrats on the baby and healthy healing!! :o)

It's probably not a big deal - I had a similar little spot, where stuff just needed to come out - and that spot has healed better than the rest. But call your doctor when his/her office opens and make an appt. to be sure.
