I would also add to make sure the formula can is not dented when you buy it. A dented can is considered defective & the freshness of formula is not guaranteed. You will notice dented cans typically sell cheaper on Ebay.
I recently got several cans of Similac Alimentum formula from the pediatrician and my daughter after one feeding did not do well with it. I know how expensive the formula is so I posted an online ad for free formula for anyone who was interested. I had calls within 2 minutes. I then decided to check to see if anyone was giving away the kind I use. I thought why didn't I do this months ago. I could have saved a ton of money. I can pay $5 for a can rather then $25 at the store. What I need to know is if anyone has done this and has had a bad experience?

I buy online between Craigslist and eBay and have never had a problem either. I have bought the expensive hypoallergenic kind for one of my girls and regular Similac for my other. We also buy from the stores. I have sold extra cans online, as well.
I bought Enfamil online for $6 a can and it was the same person I bought it from. I always checked it can for dents, holes, cracks, made sure it was sealed nothing funny looking about each can I even smelled it. Check the expiration my daughter did just fine never had any problems and I also picked up the milk at her house so it made me feel more comfortable. Now my brother has a baby and I showed him what to look for on craigslist, he bought formula from different people he picked up at their homes he never had any problems either his baby is now 1yr old off formula.
Good Luck, it saved us a ton of money
i brought some formula online in craiglist for my twins it was much better price than the store i brought several similac large can like 4 for 40.00 and in the store are 21.50 each also small cans for 6.00 each i don't have any bad experience just ALWAYS chek the expiration date in the can and make sure is closed with the metal lid seal .
Having been in the pharmaceutical industry over 10 years, I would never advise anyone to purchase anything like formula, medication, etc. over the internet unless it is directly from the manufacturer or a trusted vendor (e.g. Babies R Us).
The Federal Trade Commission is constantly issuing warnings regarding counterfeiters. Though there are a lot of well-intentioned people out there, there are also a lot of people without consciences - I would never purchase an item like this over the internet.
A few years ago, when selling insulin, I found people trying to sell it on eBay - completely against the law because they were prescription formulations. They were very quickly shut down. So, it might also be worth looking into the legality of selling the products (even though they don't require a prescription).
