Ladies of the Northeast. How do you dress your little ones when using a cars eat and a Bundle Me. I babysit my granddaughter and usually put on a sweater and hat when she is in her carseatmwith the Bundle Me. We are usually just going in and out of places. Was never faced with this with my kids. Never hand a Bundle Me. Feel ridiculous for asking this. It just seems that it is like a sleeping bag and very warm. Thanks very much

So What Happened?

How I love this site. Thank you for your responses. Feel better now about the way I dress her. Geez I have raised four kids. Oldest 36. My friends n I all laugh at ourselves. We used to be able to get out in 15 minutes with our kids. Each had four. Getting these babies out takes an hour. Guess cause we are not 25 anymore lol. Have a great day.

Don't use the kind that go IN the carseat, which are most of them. Those come between the child and the straps.

You can use one that goes OVER the carseat. Those are great and safe!
We don't allow winter coats in the carseat or booster (or even for me in the car; I unzip so the belt goes over my body, not the coat), but we do layers and a thin fleece coat. When we get out, we put our coats on. As infants, it's easy if they have the fleece thing that goes over the carseat. Best time, in my opinion!

Is this the blanket thing that goes on the lift out coarsest?
Never used O. either but they say coats, etc are not to be used in a 5 pt harness seat, so I think a sweater, or 2 thin layers is probably fine.

Hi There,
The point of the Bundle me is to take the place of heavy winter coats or snowsuits when they are in the carseat. They are not supposed to wear anything too bulky under the buckles of the carseat. With my 3 kids, we always put them in a mid wieght/ not bulky fleece coat or warm sweater under the bundle-me, and always put a hat/mittens on also in the really cold weather. They make a lighter wieght, water resistant bundle me also, which we like to use in the spring/fall! Hope this helps!

I use the bundle me all the time this time of year. I have 2 kids so the baby is in the stroller in a sweatshirt with a sweater over it and then the bundle me-this is because we are outside for an extended period of time. If I was just going in and out of places I wouldn't put as many layers on him because that little sleeping bag is warm! And a great invention :)

In the MidWest here.

For my son(if it's the fluffy lambswool and fleece looking sleeping bag looking thing you put on the carseat/carrier), I had him in his onesie and blanket sleeper, with the bundle partly open until I had to transport him outside, then I covered him up. In the store, I had it opened again so he didn't overheat.
Depending on how cold it is, depends on how much you bundle up, because yeah, very warm for baby.
I once went grocery shopping to three different places with him in onesie and blanket sleeper in that cover, and he never woke up once.

Hope this helps.
