Build a Bear?

I did a party for my twins at Build a Bear this year. It was great. The age ranged from 3-5 year olds. The party leader did a great job engaging all the kids and they had fun. I set the limit of 12 dollars a kid so if they chose a cheap bear they could get a shirt but all other accesories were bought by parents if the kids really wanted them. And if I remember no kid really did. But they gave them ribbons and bows for the ears for free. We did pizza at one of the places in the mall so all in all I spend less than 200 for the whole party that included feeding about 6 kids and the adults that came with them. I highly recommend it.

Just my opinion, but I think Build A Bear for a 3 year old is too much. I think it's something that should be saved until at least age 6. Why spend so much money on a party that you child won't remember?

My kids loved it..we did it with them at five and three. Not the party, but just went and did it. I would say it is a pretty fun thing for them as long as each kiddo has an adult with them. It would be hard for just a few people to take on. I will not go in there with my kids unless my husband is there.

Just an FYI- there are no party rooms and there is no place for food, so you will have to make arrangements for cake and food at the food court of the mall. Also, be sure to have a limit on the amount you will spend per child as it can get over the top with sound chips, clothing, accessories, etc...

its fine for the age but its crazy expensive for 6 kids. Especially coming off a vacation! I would take just her or her and her best friend. But then again, I'm cheap!

Build a bear would be fun for your three year-old, but I wouldn't do it with six kids. I would do something smaller and with about 3 kids for a party.

I just took my 6 year old there for her b-day. We had never been and didn't do a party, but has my 3 year old in tow. My 3 year old loved it, BUT very rarely does she use/play with her dog. It was 80 bucks for 2 animals and and outfit for each.

I personally would wait until she is a bit older for something like that.

Honestly a three year old will not remember the party but at 5 or 6 it will be "da bomb". At three you are throwing your money away just to impress the other mommies.
We never did parties until they hit pre-K. They all remember their first parties and they were all turning 5.

I think 3 year olds are to little because there is tons of down time at the party. They have to wait until all the kids pick out their bears, wait until it is their turn to get their bear stuffed, waiting after your bear is stuffed and waiting for everyone to get thier ready to go home. While they waiting they have to stay calm and all remain in the same area! I feel it is better for older kids that are better at just hanging out with friends. I found Build a Bear parties to be stressful for the parents when the kids are little!

I had my daughters 6th birthday at Build a bear last week. We had a total of 8, incuding, 2, three year olds, and everyone had a great time! I provided lunch & cupcakes in the mall food court before we all walked over to the party! It was Just over $200. Each child that went over my $20 limit, paid the rest with their own cash!
