Bugs in My Son's Bedroom?

Today, at bedtime, I noticed in my son's room weird marks on the wall right below the ceiling. It would have looked like water had come in except it hasn't been raining, and the marks were brown. They also started like an inch from the ceiling.
So anyway, those "traces" looked like water had dripped down the ceiling, they were about 2 inches long, and there were about 5-6 next to each other, then a little further down the wall there were some blobs of the same color, which looked like something had crawled. I have never seen those traces before, but have heard the roaches might leave traces when crawling. I cleaned them off because theyscared my son, and it came off well (not like water marks).
Does anybody have an idea as to what this might be, and if it is bugs what can be done. We live in an apartment, so I'll get maintenance to look at it tomorrow. But just for now, I'd would like to have an idea as to waht it might be.

Thank you for your help!

We have the same marks in the nursery whenever we use a humidifier for stuffy noses. When we move the humdifier to a different room, the marks follow. When we don't use the humidifier, they don't appear. Is there a source of moisture in your son's room?

I lived in two apartments where I had something just like you described in the bathroom... it was water seeping through the paint... brown because of rust from nails back there. The moisture from the shower would cause it to seep out. Could that be it? I'm no expert, but have never heard of bugs leaving something like that.

I agree with the others about moisture. It can also mess with your allergies. I hope this helps.

wow, I dont think its bugs...I mean, Ive never heard of that b4!

If you can afford to, have pest control come by for 'an estimate' to see about getting your home sprayed, and while they are there, ask them about this & see what they say. If its bugs they will tell you what they are, and how much it costs to get rid of them.

Moisture. As with the humidifier. Moisture increases the chances of mold to grow. It might be that. If that is the case, I hope that you guys do not have bad allergies.

Hope you find out soon.
