Bubble Bum Booster

We will be getting a new car and I am researching smaller boosters for my 7 yr old and her friends. This brand is only available online so I can't see it in person. Reviews look good but seems weird that it is inflatable. The other option is the Nania. Any thoughts? Thanks

What can I do next?

my daughter is too small yet for boosters, but my friends with multiple kids have talked about using the bubble bum solely as a temporary option to bring when traveling (e.g., traveling on an airplane where packing space is limited, so being able to deflate and fold it up is super-convenient and then using the seat for the rental car), but not as a permanent everyday booster. they have all liked it for that specific purpose.

i haven't heard of the nania.

Bubble Bum is a backup seat, not meant to be a kid's main seat for regular use. It's for travel, carpool, etc.

I had to look it up as I've never heard of it before. I found some reviews on Target.com that say it gets holes in it quickly and deflates.
I have to admit my personal opinion after looking at it is you're probably safer putting a phone book under them then using this.
I can see way to many ways it can get holes in it and be useless. I also don't see how it could really stay in place like it should.
The one thing I would never cheap out on or give in to a gimmick is my children's safety seats! I bought a high back booster that attached to the seats with LATCH so they can not slide around and become projectiles in the event of an accident. They have side head protection and everything. I kept my oldest in one until he was 4'9" and the seatbelt fit him as it safely should. My others are in a booster and a 5pt harness, even though they are 9 & almost 4. I have the Sunshine Kids boosters and feel a lot more safer than I would with a camp bed under my kids rear ends.

Whenever we transport an older child in need of a booster, I ask the parents to leave their child's booster with me. I wouldn't use an inflatable booster because it doesn't sound stable. There are backless Graco seats that cost less than the Bubble Bum (and Evanflo high backed ones that are about the same) that I would look at first.

I know nothing about the bubble bum booster. I suggest that you ask at the hospital or fire department. Which ever one that installs safety seats. They are the experts. They know what criteria to look for for safety.

I looked this up on Amazon. How is this different than using a throw pillow and those are not recommended? It can collapse during a severe crash. It is also light weight and can slide out from under the child when she squirms. I would question it's safety.

The Nania looks more sturdy. But, again, I'd ask a professional about the safety.
