How many times a day do you brush your toddler's teeth? I was told after every meal, but what is the general consensus of most people out there?

We brush our daughters teeth in the morning when she gets up and a night right before bed. We took her to the denist a couple months back and they told us not to brush more than that because it could make her more prone to cavaties... So we brush hers when we brush ours.

It was easier for us to get on a routine of morning and night unless she had eaten something really gooey then we would do an extra brush afterwards. We also flossed pretty early because my daughter has teeth that are crowded. We used the little flossers that have handles (I think Walmart has ones with dinosaurs, princesses, etc) and did this every-other night.
Make sure she's drinking water with flouride as well and getting regular checkups!
:)
Hope this helps!
Amanda

PS- My dentist recommended using a "spin brush" for her, but I can't remember what age we started using it. It gets rid of more plaque. Might want to ask about that too.

Once before bed for toddlers/preschoolers, twice a day when they get close to permanent teeth age. I can't see them finding time during the school day to brush their teeth after lunch and our dentist doesn't insist as long as their teeth are in good shape and we get in some flossing at night.

Always twice a day, more if she eats something sticky, licorice or something. Our daughter is four so she will go brush her teeth at her own will after eating sometimes, not every time. We make sure in the morning, after breakfast and before bed.

Brush twice a day....morning and before bed. I have 3 girls and they have always done it this way. The dentist says thats great and you don't want to over brush their teeth.

My daughter is 2 and we brush her teeth in the morning when she wakes up and at night before bed. I would like to try and squeeze one more time in during midday but haven't yet.
