Broken Blood Vessels in My Eye! I Look Possessed.

Yesterday morning, I woke up with a headache which went away with some Advil. About two hours later, I noticed ruptured blood vessels in my left eye. It's pretty creepy looking, and is a huge bloody red spot right on the white of my eye extending to the iris. Anything I can do to get it look better? Tried Visine, that didn't do anything except make the spot even more noticeable! My 4 yo was like "EEEWWW! You have a bloody eye!" I am sure other people are thinking the same... lol

What can I do next?

Nope, you have to wait till it goes away. Kind of like a bruise. Prob. about 10 days. Don't use Visine, it'll probably irritate it.

Sorry this happened...

BUT, perhaps in honour of valentine's day, you could take an eye liner, and draw a 'heart' around your eye?? It s going to draw attention in any case...might as well take advantage and get a laugh!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I would call the doctor/nurse about it just in case because of the headache first. But I had the same thing - it'll go away, but it looks REALLY wierd for a while.

I dont think there is a speedy way to make it dissipate. Enjoy the attention it will draw for a few days :)
Make sure your blood pressure is okay.
But these broken vessels happen quite frequently and arent anything to worry about for the most part.
Red eye for Valentines Day is kinda unique :)

I don't think anything will really help with that except some dark sunglasses. You might call the nurse at your doctors office to see if she has any sage advice.

Nothing that you can do. I work at lenscrafters and have gone to optical school. It looks scary. Unless, you were hit in the eye and the eye gives you any pain the only thing that will heal it is time. Sometimes, this can happen for example if you coughed really hard or blew your nose really hard. It will be gone within a week.

I would consider seeing a doctor. Particularly if this should occur again.
